Newsletter Archive: In the Studio - March 2025

The winter moons are coming to a close and I have been busy in the studio preparing work for exhibition deadlines - both in physical beadwork and in virtual reality beadwork.
I have been experiencing growing pains in my virtual reality beadwork practice in the form of error codes and technical issues as I am working on a project of a greater complexity than I am used to. This branch of my practice is relatively new - and exciting - but that comes with a steep learning curve. I've been seeking advice from other artists in this medium and am being reminded over and over that art isn't created in a vacuum and always lives within community. I am pushing through, knowing it will be worth it to continue to grow.
The virtual reality beadwork project I am building now is titled Puktewitowo'kuom - Where the Stars Reside, and will debut at an upcoming exhibition in Campbell River, British Columbia this spring.
Wela'lin (Thank you!) for being a part of my art practice!
Ap Namultes! (I'll see you again),
